Yemelin signs a one year two-way contract

The eagerly awaited news has finally arrived.  Montreal's Russian prospect, the 25 year old, 6'2, 223 lbs, defenseman Alexei Yemelin is about to arrive in the NHL.  The Canadiens announced earlier today that they Yemelin (Emelin) has signed a two-way one year contract with the team.  The financial terms of the contract were not revealed as per the club policies.

Among the die-hard Habs fan, the news has been circulating for a few days now that Alexei Yemelin (Emelin) from the AK Bars Kazan of the KHL might be signing with the Montreal Canadiens and be part of the lineup in the 2011-2012 season.  Several sources have reported that Yemelin's signing will also have a clause allowing him to return to the KHL instead of playing in the AHL in case Habs don't retain his services.  The contract is said to be for 1 year and no monetary value has been placed on the agreement as of yet. 

Yemelin ousted against Slovenia
