Dustin Boyd; A Fire Within – HiD Prospect Report: Week 10

Week #10 marked the beginning of the post Max Pacioretty era. With their top goal scorer promoted to the Habs, the ‘Dogs will have to start getting their goals from other individuals. The Hamilton Bulldogs played their final home game before the Christmas break before hitting the road for a 5-game road trip to the southern part of the United States.

David Desharnais 4-point night leads Bulldogs to a 5-0 win

The Hamilton Bulldogs (19-9-1-3) held the Houston Aeros (16-15-2-1) scoreless on Tuesday night, winning by the score of 5-0.  The first star of the game, David Desharnais scored twice while shorthanded and picked up 2 assist on the night making him the AHL leader in points scored this season. Goaltender Curtis Sanford made 38 saves for his second shutout of the year including 23 saves alone in the second period.

Rampage hand the 'Dogs a 5-4 loss in a fight filled game

The Hamilton Bulldogs (18-9-1-3) were defeated by the San Antonio Rampage (22-8-1-0) by the score of 5-4 at the AT&T Center on Sunday evening. Four unanswered goals, which included three in the second period proved to be the turning point as the ‘Dogs failed to compete with a powerhouse team in the AHL.

Boyd shines for the 'Dogs as they comeback to win 3-2 against the Stars

The Hamilton Bulldogs (18-8-1-3) erased a 2-goal deficit in the third and scored early in the overtime to complete the comeback to defeat the Texas Stars (17-11-2-1) 3-2 on Saturday night. Dustin Boyd scored the tying goal late in the third period as well as the game-winning goal in overtime for another win in as many nights for the ‘Dogs.  

Special teams and Sanford beat the Barons 3-0

The Hamilton Bulldogs (17-8-1-3) shutout the Oklahoma City Barons (16-10-1-3) 3 to 0 on Friday night. Starting goalie Curtis Sanford earned his first shutout of the season, pushing 29 pucks aside. Dustin Boyd who was demoted to the Bulldogs during the week, scored his first goal in his first game with the ‘Dogs. David Desharnais picked up a goal and an assist in the winning effort.

Early Christmas gift for Max Pac – HiD Prospect Report: Week 9

Having lost consecutive games for the first time this season, the ‘Dogs looked ahead to ending their losing streak in week #9 against their North Division rivals. Three games were on the agenda for the Bulldogs this week as they took on the Rochester Americans twice in three days and capped off the week against their Provincial rivals, The Toronto Marlies on a special CBC nationwide coverage.  

Bulldogs succumb to Houston Aeros

The Bulldogs hosted the Houston Aeros last night without Max Pacioretty for the first time this season and felt the lack of scoring touch in the team.  Despite scoring the first goal of the game, one that came from the stick of Alexandre Avtsin, his fourth of the season, the Bulldogs gave up 2 goals in the third period to lose the game by a score of 3-1.

In a game televised on national television, the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 5-1 and strengthened their position in the North Division.  The game saw Olivier Fortier break out of an extended slump, scoring his first professional hat trick and assisting on another goal while defenceman Mathieu Carle accumulated three assists of his own.  Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais continued their point streak with Pacioretty scoring his 17th of the season along with one assist and Desharnais accumulating two assists in the game.  The latter, who was rec

Max Pacioretty scored his 16th goal of the season in the overtime to snap a three game losing streak for the Hamilton Bulldogs.  With this goal, Pacioretty is now tied with Andrew Gordon of the Hershey Bears as AHL's leading goal scorer.  Netminder Robert Mayer got his sixth win of the season as the 'Dogs solidified their position in the North Division with a three points lead over the second place Toronto Marlies.

The Hamilton Bulldogs continued their losing streak falling for the third time in as many games at the hands of the last place Rochester Americans at the Blue Cross Arena last night.  After leading 3-1 in the middle of the second period, the Bulldogs allowed three unanswered goal in a span of 5 minutes and 43 seconds to defeat the 'Dogs by a score of 4-3.  Despite the loss, the Bulldogs still lead the North Division ahead of the Toronto Marlies.
