Bulldogs succumb again in extra time

The Hamilton Bulldogs lost another game in extra time after Alexandre Giroux beat Robert Mayer at the 3:58 mark in overtime to give the Oklahoma City Barons a win at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario.

Bulldogs lose back-to-back against Manitoba Moose

The Bulldogs lost their second match in as many nights at the hands of the same team, the Manitoba Moose.  The match, just like the previous match, ended with a shootout win for the Moose, 4-3.  Most of the scoring in this game happened in the second period when the Moose scored three goals while the Bulldogs responded with two, one by Weber (his 5th of the season) and the other by Desharnais (his 2nd of the season).  Desharnais also earned an assist on Weber's goal while Brandon Nash earned two assists. 

Weber continues to impress as Bulldogs lose in Shootout

The Bulldogs managed to come back from a 2-0 early game deficit but eventually conceded the game in Shootout to the Manitoba Moose Thursday Night in Winnipeg.  Andreas Engqvist tied the game late in the third period with his first goal of the season to force the Moose into overtime but the 'Dogs were unable to beat goaltender Eddie Lack in Overtime and shootout.

Excluding the Calder Cup, what more could you ask from the Hamilton Bulldogs last season. Just about everything was going perfect for this team. We witnessed the emergence of P.K. Subban, David Desharnais, and goaltender Cédrick Desjardins with their dominant performances. In addition, the “Guy Boucher effect” on his players brought out the potential of each individual. Many  of these youngsters earned a spot with the big club mostly due to injuries but also because of their work ethic and their skills.

Weber on fire as Bulldogs win 5-2

Defenceman Yannick Weber had a two-goal game as the Bulldogs defeated the Rochester Americans 5-2 at Copps Coliseum.   Mid way through the first period, the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard with a powerplay goal by Weber, his second of the season.  With another goal by Alexander Avtsin, the Bulldogs finished the period up by two goals.  This was Avtsin's first goal of the season.

After winning their season opener yesterday against the Rochester Americans, the Hamilton Bulldogs gave three goals in the third period to lose their home opener 5 to 3 at the hands of the Toronto Marlies at Copps Coliseum, Hamilton. 

Bulldogs win season opener

Habs' AHL affiliate Hamilton Bulldogs started their season with a solid win over the Rochester Americans.  The Americans opened the scoring with two power play goals in the first period but a goal by Kyle Klubertanz in the dying seconds of the first cut their lead in half.  The Bulldogs went on to score four more un-answered goals to win the season opener in Rochester New York.  Maxwell, Desharnais, Wyman and Conboy were the other goal scorers for the Dogs.  Robert Mayers, who gave up two goals on three shots in the first period, earned his first W by stopping all su

Bulldogs appoint Henry as captain

Veteran defenceman Alex Henry, 32 was appointed today as the captain of the Hamilton Bulldogs for a second straight season.  Forwards David Desharnais and Ryan White will serve as his alternate captains for home games while defenceman Mathieu Carle and forward Ben Maxwell will serve as the alternate captains for road games.
