Pacioretty had the green light!

Max Pacioretty, who survived a vicious unpunished hit by Boston's captain Zdeno Chara, and could have made a big difference in the Montreal-Boston series, was given the green light to return to the game.  Pacioretty said that he was given the permission to return to full-contact action by the medical staff of the Montreal Canadiens earlier today.  Unfortunately for Max, there won't be any more action till the Habs start the 2011-2012 season.

Desharnais & Wisniewski take therapy days

The Habs were at the Complex Sportif Bell in Brossard today with both ice rinks occupied, but without the rookie forward David Desharnais and defenseman James Wisniewski.  In what may end up being the last practice at the Complex sportif for the team, both players were excused for "therapy" reasons.  For the Habs though, it's 2009-2010 playoffs all over again.  They will be facing an elimination game tomorrow at the Bell Center against the Boston Bruins in what promises to be an exciting game and if the puck bounces their way, they may end up returning the follo

Nice Guy Chara

Alright, I'll give.  Chara is a nice guy.  All the analysts want me to believe that, and I will.  Who am I to refute that assumption, right?  They all keep singing his songs, how "He is genuinely a nice person" or "he's a gentleman" or "it's not his nature to do anything like this, he is not dirty".  These comments attributed to Mike Milbury and Aaron Ward are being pushed on to us, among others, as to how nice of a guy Zdeno Chara is.

Habs recall Ryan White

The Montreal Canadiens continued to deplete the Hamilton Bulldogs after the injuries suffered in the game against the Buffalo Sabres last Tuesday.  After announcing the callup of Andreas Engqvist yesterday, the Habs announced earlier today that Ryan White will be joining the team in Ottawa for tomorrow's game against the Senators at the Scotiabank Place.  Ryan White had an extremely impressive pre-season with the Habs and many speculated that he might remain with the team as he was one of the last players to be sent down to the Bulldogs.  The 22 years old, 6 feet, 198 lbs

Pacioretty would rather stay in AHL

In an extremely candid interview with Tony Marinaro, @tonymarinaro, of the Team 990 in Montreal, Max Pacioretty was very clear about his desires to be in the AHL if there is no role for him on the top 2 lines.  Pacioretty talked about his confidence and how he is off to a good start.  In fact, in ten games with the Bulldogs this season, he has scored three goals and assisted on 9 others for a total of 12 points.  He has taken a total of 48 shots towards the opposition's net. Notably, two of his three goals came during a man-advantage situation.
