Desharnais & Wisniewski take therapy days

The Habs were at the Complex Sportif Bell in Brossard today with both ice rinks occupied, but without the rookie forward David Desharnais and defenseman James Wisniewski.  In what may end up being the last practice at the Complex sportif for the team, both players were excused for "therapy" reasons.  For the Habs though, it's 2009-2010 playoffs all over again.  They will be facing an elimination game tomorrow at the Bell Center against the Boston Bruins in what promises to be an exciting game and if the puck bounces their way, they may end up returning the follo

Habs demote Gomez, recall Dawes

In a surprise move, the Montreal Canadiens General Manager announced earlier today that veteran forward Scott Gomez has been sent down to the Hamilton Bulldogs in view of his dismal performance.  At the same time, the Habs have recalled Nigel Dawes who recently scored his second hat-trick with the Bulldogs.

Gomez out with mysterious ailment

There's a strong possibility that veteran center Scott Gomez will not be in the lineup tomorrow night when the Habs faceoff against the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena.  Gomez, who left the game early in the second period against the Ottawa Senators on December 7th says that it's a lower-body injury and that he was struck by a leg.  Coach Martin said that he is "day-to-day".  Gomez was also absent from yesterday's on-ice team practice.  While no new information is available from the team regarding what ails Scott Gomez, it should be noted t

Everybody is talking about which player is going to help the second line for our beloved Montreal Canadiens. Jacques Martin has tried a number of players on the left wing in an effort to try to get the Gomez-Gionta duo going and now it appears that AK46 is next in line. Will this latest change pay off? My gut tells me no and to be honest I am a little concerned that this will be the start of another disappearing act by Andrei Kostitsyn. Why break up your most consistent line when the biggest issue with your second line is not even on the left wing?
