
The Hamilton Bulldogs opened their season on October 8th against the Rochester Americans with a 5-2 victory in front of 6,123 fans at the Copps Coliseum. Brock Trotter, the newly returned, and Frederic St-Denis, the defenseman who impressed many at the Montreal Canadiens' training camp, shined in the victory and scored two goals each. Trotter also registered two assists for a four point night. Nathan Lawson recorded his first win for the season with 28 saves on 30 shots.
After opening the score in the first on a blast from the point by Frederic St-Denis, the Bulldogs scored three goals in the second period to put the game out of Rochester's reach. St-Denis, Trotter and Ian Schultz each scored in the second and Trotter scored his second of the night on a penalty shot in the third period. Aaron Palushaj recorded an assist as well in the game.
Next up for the 'Dogs - St. John’s, Newfoundland where they will play two games against the St. John’s Ice Caps on Friday October 14th at 6:00 P.M. EST and Saturday October 15th at 6:00 P.M. EST.
