© Habsindepth.comAfter losing to the Detroit Red Wings last night, the Montreal Canadiens turned to their farm team for some reinforcements recalling David Desharnais to replace the injured Scott Gomez. Gomez missed last night's game with a mysterious lower-body injury and is expected to miss tonight's game as well against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Waffle land. Many expected the Canadiens to recall Desharnais or Max Pacioretty after Gomez was expected to miss the game in Motor City but the Habs instead opted to use Dustin Boyd.
Desharnais, a 5'7", 170 lbs center is leading the AHL with 23 assists with 11 of those coming on the power-play. He is currently tied with Pacioretty to lead the Hamilton Bulldogs with 30 points. Desharnais helped the Bulldogs win against the Rochester Americans last night assisting on the overtime marker by Pacioretty. Desharnais played six games with the big club last season and accumulated one assist during his short journey.
The Habs have not confirmed as of yet if Desharnais will be in the lineup or not for tonights game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
