With Hal Gil already out of the line-up because of the flu, the Habs injury woes continue as Jaroslav Spacek is once again out with an undisclosed upper body injury. This has prompted the Montreal Canadiens to recall rookie defenseman Frederic St. Denis from the Hamilton Bulldogs. A native of Greenfield Park, St. Denis will be making his NHL debut at the Bell Center later this evening for what is sure to be a special moment for the 25 year old rookie. Listed at 5’11 and 190Lbs. St. Denis currently leads all Bulldog defensemen in points, with 3 goals and 5 assists.

As Montreal continues to deal with an abundant amount of injuries and they continue to struggle on the power play. Many are asking, when will Andrei Markov be ready to make his season debut? Markov has started skating with the team but is still wearing a no contact jersey. When both Markov and Jacques Martin are asked when we can expect to see Markov’s return? They both continue to evade the question by saying that there is no firm time table. If Markov is skating with the team and is making progress, should he not be closer to playing? Should we be concerned? Will Markov ever be ready?

The way the season is going so far you would think that the Habs brass would be a little more forthcoming with their fans. We all know that Markov will not instantly solve all of Montreal’s problems. He will more than likely be a little rusty upon his return and his knee will most likely never be 100%. With that being said he is still an impact player and the sooner he returns the better. This is something that we are all holding on to, which is why it is so frustrating when the team refuses to give us a true answer on the matter.
